A Good Week

The plane went into the shop at the club on Wednesday for a few tweaks. I flew it yesterday and it is doing great.

I was also contacted by another member of my club, who is potentially interested in flying along. This gives me more incentive to start nailing down details like dates.

We Have Plane

I'm pretty excited. I went down to Coastal Valley Aviation at SMX on Friday and picked up the plane. It was a fun and long-awaited excursion. Since the return, I have had the plane up twice. It flies very nicely. I can't say I'm glad the whole wing incident happened, but I am happy with the condition of the plane as it is today.

I also received another batch of old charts from a generous fellow pilot. It's time to unfold them all and start making plans.

I mentioned to my father that astronaut Tom Stafford's birthplace was now honored with an airport and a museum which are on the old Route 66. They happened to be passing that way on their way home to Tucson from Thanksgiving in Carbondale, IL, and they stopped in. Dad even sent a picture.
